The Pearl Hybrid Exotic is a 14x8" snare drum with a hybrid Kapur/Fiberglass shell, finished in Ebony Lacquer with Pearl Inlay. The dual-material shell gives the drum a distinct tonal character, backed by locking hardware that keeps tuning stable under heavy playing.

The shell combines Kapur and fiberglass in a hybrid construction, contributing to the drum's particular character. The finish is Ebony Lacquer with a Pearl Inlay detail.

Locking Strainer

The drum features Pearl's SR1000 Glide-Lock Strainer. Its locking throw-off lever and tension knob assure slip-free performance, keeping the snare wires securely in place during play.

Spin-Tight Tension Rods

To maintain tuning tension across the batter head, this drum uses Pearl's Spin-Tight tension rods. This elegantly simple innovation creates a tension rod-within-a-tension rod, allowing the rod to expand and lock into place within the swivel nut. Tuning is handled with a special K180 drum key, giving greater control under high-impact play.
