Pearl Brass Free Floating 14"x5"
Brass snare drum, 14x5, Pearl Free Floating series. Crisp attack and warm overtones with hardware isolated from the shell.
Product Description
The Pearl 14x5 Brass Free Floating snare drum removes all hardware contact with the shell, letting the brass shell resonate freely for maximum projection.
Every model in Pearl's Free Floating series has its own distinct voice. This one is built around a 1 mm brass shell that delivers a crisp sound with strong attack and warm overtones. The Free Floating design means the lugs and strainer never touch the shell, so it can sing on its own terms without being held back by external hardware. The result is a snare with real character and dynamic response, well suited for players who want a sound that stands apart from a conventionally mounted snare.
Construction
The shell is 1 mm brass with MasterCast hoops and FT-50 lugs. Each side has 10 SST-5042 stainless steel tension rods. The strainer is the SR-160F model, and the snare wires are SN-1420I.
