PDP Concept Select PDSN0514CSAL 14"x5"

Product Description

The PDP Concept Select 14x5" is a snare drum built around a 3 mm seamless aluminium shell, giving it a bright, punchy tone with plenty of projection. Chrome hardware, wooden hoops and a DW MAG snare throw-off make it a solid, reliable choice for drummers who want DW-inspired hardware without stepping up to a full custom DW build.

• 3 mm seamless aluminium shell for a bright, punchy tone
• Wooden hoops for a slightly warmer, rounder attack
• DW MAG snare throw-off for smooth, reliable engagement
• True Pitch tension rods for accurate, stable tuning
• 20-strand snare wire for a crisp, responsive snare sound

Sound and Feel

The seamless aluminium shell gives the drum a bright, punchy character with good projection, while the wooden hoops soften the attack slightly compared to metal hoops. Combined with the 20-strand snare wire, the drum responds quickly and clearly to both light ghost notes and hard rimshots.

Hardware

PDP has fitted the Concept Select with True Pitch tension rods, which thread smoothly into the lugs for precise, stable tuning. The DW MAG snare throw-off is the same mechanism found on many DW drums, giving quick, secure engagement of the snare wires.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want DW-inspired hardware and a metal-shell snare with plenty of punch and clarity, without stepping up to a full custom DW build.
