Concept Maple is PDP's own drum series, designed by DW in California, and this 18x22" bass drum is built around a 7-ply European maple shell. The hardware comes straight from DW's own catalog, giving the drum a level of build quality well above what you'd normally expect at this price point.

Construction and Sound

The European maple shell gives Concept Maple a warm, full fundamental tone, while the True Pitch tension rods make it easier to find and hold tuning over time. The dual-turret lugs are a detail more commonly found on DW's higher-end series, contributing to a stable, resonant shell.

DW-Grade Hardware

The die-cast, low-mass claw hooks are designed to interfere as little as possible with the shell's resonance, letting the bass drum breathe and project more freely. Combined with the well-known Remo heads, you get a bass drum that sounds as good as it looks.
