Product Description

The PDP Concept Classic Tom 8x12" is a mounted tom with a shell and hoops built from European Maple, combining modern build quality with vintage aesthetics. The 6-ply shell delivers punchy attack along with a warm and versatile tone, and the drum is fitted with DW's advanced Suspension Tom Mount system for enhanced resonance.

• European Maple shell and hoops
• Suspension Tom Mount (STM) for enhanced resonance
• Dual-turret lugs for even distribution of shell tension
• True-Pitch tuning rods with 20% additional threads per square inch for enhanced tuning control
• Remo drum heads

Build

The shell is built from 6 plies of European Maple, matched with European Maple counter hoops, giving a warm foundation with punchy attack. The drum hangs in DW's Suspension Tom Mount system (STM), which lets the shell resonate freely instead of being dampened by a fixed mount, resulting in enhanced resonance compared to a traditional mount.

Tuning

Modern dual-turret lugs spread tension evenly across the head. The True-Pitch tuning rods offer 20% additional threads per square inch compared to standard rods, giving finer tuning control and helping the drum hold its tuning.
