PDP Concept Classic Tom, 8x12''
8x12" maple mounted tom from PDP Concept Classic. Classic looks, modern build, punchy attack and warm, versatile tone.
Product Description
The PDP Concept Classic is an 8x12" mounted tom that pairs vintage-inspired looks with modern build quality. The shell delivers punchy attack and warm, versatile tone, backed by hardware built for precise, reliable tuning.
- European Maple shell and hoops (6-ply)
- DW Suspension Tom Mount (STM) for enhanced resonance
- Dual-turret lugs for even shell tension distribution
- True-Pitch tuning rods with 20% additional threads per square inch for enhanced tuning control
- Remo drum head
Construction
The shell is built from 6 plies of European Maple, and the counter hoops are European Maple as well. This combination gives the drum both punch in the attack and warmth in the tone, putting a modern build underneath that classic look.
Tuning and mounting
DW's Suspension Tom Mount (STM) suspends the tom from the stand rather than through the shell, letting it resonate more freely for enhanced resonance. The modern dual-turret lugs distribute shell tension evenly around the drum for a more stable base tuning. The True-Pitch tuning rods add 20% additional threads per square inch compared to conventional rods, giving finer control when fine-tuning the head.
Head
The tom ships fitted with a Remo drum head.
