Roland PD-8 V-Pads 8,5"
Product Description
The PD-8 is a rubber-coated V-Pad with dual triggers, designed as a striking surface for Roland drum modules such as the TD-3 and TD-6V. The 8.5" surface senses the difference between head and rim strikes and sends that information to the module, which triggers the corresponding sound – rimshot, bow/edge, tom or hi-hat.

The pad itself doesn't produce any sound – it senses where and how hard you strike and sends that signal to the drum module, which then plays back the matching sound. Thanks to the dual-trigger design, the module can distinguish between strikes on the head and on the rim, making it possible to trigger rimshots and rim sounds without needing an extra pad.
The surface is rubber-coated, giving a muted, quiet rebound that works well at home or in a rehearsal space where you don't want an acoustic head rumbling through the walls.
Note that images of the V-Pad series may differ slightly from the actual product, and that the PD-8 is delivered as a single unit even if product photos sometimes show several pads at once.
