Product Description
Orchestral Grand EKX is an expansion for EZkeys 2 built around a Steinway D-274 grand piano, one of the world's most heralded concert instruments. Recorded in one of the most meticulously crafted studio rooms in existence, it delivers an epic, richly detailed grand piano sound for everything from full-scale orchestral writing to intimate, scaled-down passages.
The instrument is a Steinway* D-274, measuring 274 centimeters and assembled from roughly 12,000 individual parts with painstaking craftsmanship. It was recorded in the main hall at Galaxy Studios in Belgium, the very room where the core library for Superior Drummer 3 and several other Toontrack libraries were captured. The hall spans 330 square meters with a soaring ceiling height, giving a natural but controlled ambience.
Recording and Presets
The recording used an array of 19 individual microphones to capture the piano across a wide range of mic configurations and tonal flavors. These mic sources form the basis of mix-ready presets included in the expansion, supporting formats from stereo up to 5.0 surround.

In addition to the sounds and presets, the expansion includes a dedicated MIDI library, tailored specifically for this instrument.
