The shell is carved from solid mahogany and topped with hand-picked goat skin, just like a full-size djembe - only scaled down. Built like a real djembe - just smaller

Part of the NINO® Water Rhythm Series, the drum's shell is carved from solid mahogany sourced from plantations, in the classic African djembe shape. The head is hand-picked goat skin, giving the drum genuine djembe character despite its small size. It comes in size XX-Small: a head width of 4 1/2" (11.25 cm) and a height of 8" (20 cm) - built for small hands and short arms. The finish is brown/black.

Rope tuning for an authentic feel

Just like full-size djembes, this drum is tuned with rope - here high-quality PP nylon - letting kids get familiar early on with how an acoustic djembe actually works and sounds.
