Product Description
This is Nicko McBrain's signature drumstick from Vic Firth, developed together with Iron Maiden's drummer. It's based on the classic 5B, but McBrain wanted more substance in the stick: the neck and tip are beefed up, giving a sturdier grip and a bit of extra weight behind the stroke when you need power in your comping and fills.
The stick is made from hickory, a wood known for handling hard playing without becoming brittle, and it has a wood tip – a common choice for a fuller, warmer sound against cymbals compared to nylon. At 406 mm long and 15 mm in diameter, it sits in line with a heavier 5B, rather than a thin jazz stick.
A good fit if you normally play 5B but want a bit more heft in your hand – for example in rock, metal or other styles where you need a stick you can rely on.
