Metal Machinery MIDI is a MIDI pack of grooves and fills taken from the Metal Machinery SDX, performed by one of the most extreme drummers in the genre: Nick Barker. It gives you ready-to-use, playable patterns for blast beats, grind, and skank beats straight in your drum software.

Nick Barker has played in heavy hitters like Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, and Old Man's Child, and has spent nearly two decades pounding out grind, blast, and skank beats with rare precision. For this pack, he dug through his own back catalogue, picked out highlights, and reworked them into brand-new, creative renditions. Expect everything from relentless 250 BPM grind to classic skank beats and some of the heaviest tom grooves recorded, with the bass drums providing a constant, battering foundation.

Content and format

The pack contains 12 separate songs, organized in full eight-bar parts (intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, and fills). The grooves are included in both straight and swing feel in 4/4. Note that this is the same MIDI material included in the Metal Machinery SDX.
