Metal Machine 2 EZX

Product Description

Andy Sneap is back with a brand new drum library for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3. Three complete kits from three distinct decades, made for everything from traditional heavy metal to modern, progressive and extreme metal.

• Three complete kits, each with its own tonal identity
• A total of 5 kicks, 15 snares, 15 toms, 4 octobans, 19 cymbals and 3 sets of hi-hats
• More than 25 mix-ready presets, some with layers of additional samples for extra attack
• A basic collection of MIDI grooves and fills by Dan Wilding

Three Kits, Three Decades

The 1990s kit is massive, with six toms bolstered by four octobans. The 2010s set has a darker, more subdued character. The pristine 2020s kit brings razor-sharp attack and a piercing tone. Add 15 snare drums and a wide variety of cymbals, and you have a broad palette for old-school heavy metal, intricate progressive arrangements and death metal in all its forms.

Behind the Sounds

Andy Sneap, known for his work with Judas Priest, Amon Amarth and Dream Theater, engineered and produced the library in his own Backstage Recording Studio, on his own gear and with a new, handpicked selection of kits. The drums were sampled by Carcass drummer Dan Wilding, who also contributed a foundational collection of MIDI spanning a broad range of grooves and fills.

Mix-Ready Presets

The presets were crafted by Andy Sneap and the Toontrack sound design team. They use the software's full toolbox of compressors, EQs, reverbs and effects, and several of them also blend in layers of one-shot samples. The result is drum sounds with the weight, attack and clarity to cut through a dense wall of guitars.

Who It's For

Andy Sneap's original Metal Machine EZX from 2011 defined modern metal drum sounds. This new expansion does not replace the original but complements it, so it is just as relevant if you already own the first one. New to Sneap's drum sounds? This is a good place to start.
