Melodic Percussion – Wood EKX

Product Description

Wood EKX is a sound expansion for EZkeys 2 featuring two classic wooden melodic percussion instruments, marimba and xylophone, recorded at Galaxy Studios in Belgium. It gives you warm, earthy marimba tones and bright, piercing xylophone tones ready to use straight in your songwriting.

The marimba has a dark, rich, full and earthy sound with a plucky attack, ideal for arpeggios and leads in anything from film scores to EDM. The xylophone is more accentuated, bright and dry in tone, working as a piercingly effective melodic voice in virtually any context.

Both instruments were captured in the famed 330 square meter main hall at Galaxy Studios, using a generous selection of close mics to pick up the immediate attack and body of each instrument, plus additional mics positioned around them for surround compatibility in up to 5.0 systems. The marimba was also recorded separately in the smaller Studio 1 room for a more intimate take on the same instrument.

The expansion includes a basic MIDI library unique to the product, along with a broad collection of presets showcasing the sounds and microphone options from scaled-down to monumentally big.

Whether you're working in classical, acoustic or electronic contexts, Wood EKX is a versatile addition to your EZkeys 2 sound library.
