Meinl Sonic Energy Solid Shaped 17 toner - Sapele
Kalimba with 17 tones in C major, sapele wood. Harmonic tuning, clear tone. Includes case, cotton bag, cloth and tuning hammer.
Product Description
The Meinl Sonic Energy Solid Shaped Kalimba is a 17-tone kalimba tuned to C major, carved from a single, solid shaped body of sapele wood. The tines are arranged in a harmonic sequence so every note works together, no matter how you play them.
The kalimba, also known as a thumb piano, mbira or sansa, is a traditional African instrument. It consists of a wooden resonating body with tuned metal tines played with the thumbs. The Sonic Energy Kalimba stands out both in sound and in its distinctive shape.
Tuning and note range
The kalimba is tuned to C major with these 17 notes: d'', b', g', e', c', a, f, d, c, e, g, b, d', f', a', c'', e''. The harmonic sequence means you can play freely across the tines without ever hitting a note that clashes.
Construction
The body is carved from a single piece of sapele wood (Solid Shaped), giving the instrument a warm resonance and a sturdy build.
Included in delivery
The kalimba comes with a case, a cotton bag, a microfiber cloth and a tuning hammer, so you have everything you need for storage, transport and fine-tuning.
