Meinl Sonic Energy Solid Kalimba 17 toner - Black Walnut

Product Description

The Meinl Sonic Energy Solid Kalimba is a 17-tone kalimba built from a single solid body in Black Walnut. All tones are tuned to the C major scale and chosen so they always sound good together, no matter which notes you combine. A great choice if you want to play freely without worrying about hitting a wrong note.

The kalimba, also known as a thumb piano, Mbira or Sansa, is a traditional instrument originating in Africa. It consists of a resonating body with tuned metal tines mounted on top, played with the thumbs. This model has a solid, one-piece body in Black Walnut, giving it a full and resonant base tone.

Harmonic Tone Sequence

The tines are arranged in a harmonic sequence in C major: d'', b', g', e', c', a, f, d, c, e, g, b, d', f', a', c'', e''. Because the tones always complement each other, you can play across the keys freely without landing on a wrong note, making the instrument approachable even without music theory knowledge.

What's Included

The kalimba comes with a case, cotton bag, microfiber cloth and a tuning hammer, giving you everything you need to protect the instrument, keep it clean and fine-tune it when needed.
