Meinl Percussion Thunder Drum Large
Meinl Sonic Energy Thunder Drum Large delivers rumbling thunder effects. Metal spring, lightweight synthetic body, 26.5 cm tall.
Product Description
The Meinl Sonic Energy Thunder Drum Large is a hand-held effects instrument that creates powerful, rumbling sounds resembling rolling thunder. The body is made from lightweight synthetic material, making it comfortable to hold and easy to play, ideal for sound design, film sound, and atmospheric performances.
The thunder sound is created by letting the metal spring hang freely and controlling it with subtle wrist movements. Tapping the spring with your hand produces sharp, sizzling accents. Opening and closing the sound hole adds further variation, including expressive wah-wah-like tones.
Who It's For
The Thunder Drum works especially well for sound journeys and creative sound design where natural atmospheres matter, but it also fits nicely as an effects instrument in live percussion setups.
