Product Description

The Meinl Sonic Energy Medium Octave Steel Tongue Drum is a 10" stainless steel drum tuned to C minor with eight tongues spanning two octaves. It produces a soft, meditative sound reminiscent of a handpan and can be played just as easily with your fingers as with mallets.

• Eight tuned tongues deliver a rich, harmonic sound across two octaves
• A sound hole in the base can be sealed with the included silicone plug for a tighter, more compact sound
• Three silicone feet keep the drum steady on a flat surface or on your lap
• Comes with two wooden mallets with soft, rubber-wrapped heads
• Includes a nylon gig bag with zipper and handle
• Decorative nylon cord around the drum

Sound and Playing Feel

The drum is tuned to C minor (A4/a' 432 Hz) with the notes G3, Ab3, C4, D4, Eb4, F4, G4 and Ab4. Eight tones that give you plenty of room to improvise calm, meditative melodies. If you want a tighter, more focused sound, simply seal the sound hole in the base with the included silicone plug.

Easy to Bring Along

The drum weighs 1850 grams and comes with a nylon carrying bag with zipper and handle, making it easy to bring to rehearsal or on the road. The three silicone feet keep it steady on a table, and it plays just as well resting on your lap.
