Meinl Percussion Gong & Singing Bowl Mallet 14.5"x2.6"

Product Description

The Meinl Gong & Singing Bowl Mallet (MGM1) is a 14.5" (37 cm) mallet with a maple handle, designed for gongs between 20" and 80" as well as heavy metal singing bowls weighing roughly 1,000 grams and up. The hard synthetic core provides power and precision, while the synthetic fleece coating softens the strike.

The mallet head measures 2.6" (6.5 cm) in diameter, combining a hard core with a soft fleece surface. Enough force to bring large gongs to life while keeping the sound pleasantly soft rather than sharp or clicky.

Sound Character

On a singing bowl, the mallet produces a very soft attack and a voluminous, warm and deep tone with long sustain. Well suited for long, ringing notes. On large gongs, the same balance of power and softness applies, matched to instruments in the 20" to 80" range.

Construction

The handle is made of solid maple and comes with a wrist strap that keeps the mallet in hand during play, so it's never dropped or set aside between strikes.

Who It's For

A good choice if you play large gongs or heavy metal singing bowls and want a mallet that delivers both power and a soft, warm attack.
