Product Description

Diego Galé Signature Bongo from Meinl Percussion, 7" and 8 1/2" in the Midnight Star finish. A bongo built for Afro-Cuban music with Remo Black Calfskin heads that deliver a warm, authentic tone, equally suited to the studio and the stage.

Grammy-nominated producer, composer and instrumentalist Diego Galé has devoted his artistic life to the knowledge of Afro-Cuban music, integrating it with his own way of making music. He started playing bongos at an early age and later moved on to congas. Meinl Percussion's Diego Galé Artist Series instruments are built to give him exactly the comfort, look and sound he needs, in the studio as well as live.

Construction and materials

The shells are Premium Fiberglass, and the heads are Remo Black Calfskin Skyndeep Heads, giving the warm character of calfskin with better stability against moisture and temperature than natural hide. The lugs are 10mm Strong Tuning Lugs, and the rims are 4mm rounded SSR-Rims finished in chrome, giving a comfortable yet secure grip for the hands. The finish is High-Gloss.

Included in delivery are an accessory bag, a tuning key and Tune-Up oil for head care. Replacement heads are available separately: RHEAD-7BK for the smaller bongo and RHEAD812BK for the larger one.
