Sound and Tuning

The drum is tuned to B minor with the notes A3, B3, D4, E4, F#4, A4, B4 and D5, referenced to A4/a' at 432 Hz. The eight tongues give a round, singing tone suited to slow, meditative playing rather than fast rhythmic patterns.

The top shell is made of stainless steel and the bottom shell of steel, giving the drum both resonance and durability. Its round, compact body makes it easy to carry and easy to set down in your lap or on a table.
