The Meinl Artisan Edition Doumbek 9" is handmade in Egypt and decorated with mosaic artwork and mother-of-pearl inlay in the White Pearl, Mosaic Queen pattern. The aluminum shell paired with a synthetic head delivers everything from deep bass tones to a loud, strong doumbek sound.
The doumbek originates from Egypt but is widely used in music from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and Eastern Europe. It differs from a darbuka both in shape and in how the head is attached and tuned. The doumbek has a more rounded body, while the darbuka is tuned in a more traditional way.
What's Included
A tuning key is included so you can adjust the head tension. A matching bag (MDOB, MDOB-L, MSTDOB) is available but not included with this drum.
