Product Description
The Headliner African Djembe is a hand-carved djembe made from solid mahogany, fitted with a goat head and pre-stretched nylon ropes. This smaller size is a great choice if you want an authentic, portable djembe with warm, traditional tone.
The shell is hand carved from a single piece of plantation-grown Mahogany Wood (Swietenia macrophylla), giving it a solid, resonant foundation. The head is hand-selected goat skin, the classic choice for djembe that delivers both sharp attack and warmth.
Construction
The drum is held together with pre-stretched PP nylon ropes, 4 mm thick, run through 16 rope runners around the shell. This smaller model stands 16" (40 cm) tall with an 8" (20 cm) diameter, making it easy to carry and comfortable to play seated between the knees or worn over the shoulder.
