Meinl Percussion Travel Series 12"x24" - Pharaoh's Script

Product Description

The Meinl Travel Series is a rope-tuned djembe with a lightweight synthetic shell, built to travel easily without losing the traditional sound. This version has a 12" diameter, 24" height, a goat skin head and the Pharaoh's Script finish.

• 100% synthetic shell, significantly lighter than a wooden shell
• Traditional rope tuning with pre-stretched HTP nylon rope
• Replaceable goat skin head
• Symbolic Pharaoh's Script finish
• Also available in other sizes to match your group or sound

Construction and Tuning

The shell is molded from synthetic material, making the drum considerably lighter to carry than a traditional wooden djembe without sacrificing stability. The head is genuine goat skin and is tuned in the traditional way with rope, here a pre-stretched HTP nylon rope that holds its tuning well even after a lot of travel and temperature changes. The head is replaceable (replacement head HEAD-109) once it's time for a change.

Sizes in the Series

The Travel Series comes in four sizes: XL (14" diameter, 26" height), Large (12" diameter, 24" height. This model), Medium (10" diameter, 20" height) and Small (8" diameter, 16" height). The matching bag for this size is the MDJB-M.

Who It's For

A good choice for djembe players who want a lighter drum for rehearsal rooms, jams or travel, without giving up traditional sound and tuning.
