Conga (Tumba) 12 1/2" by Meinl, Luis Conte signature model in natural matte rubberwood. Classic Cuban tone with modern, stable hardware.
Product Description
A 12 1/2" conga (tumba) from Meinl Percussion's Artist Series, developed together with Luis Conte, one of the world's most recorded percussionists. This conga combines the warm, classic sound of traditional Cuban congas with modern, stable hardware and rubber gaskets.
The shell is built from 2 plies of rubberwood (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.) in a natural matte finish, giving a robust and well-built drum with even resonance. The hardware is black powder-coated (Black powder Hardware), and the conga hoop is the 5 mm Traditional TTR type, a classic hoop style associated with traditional conga sound. Tuning is done with 8 mm tension rods, and the head is a Remo Nuskyn head that delivers clear attack and good durability.
What's Included
The conga comes with a Conga Saver (protective plate), a tuning key, and Tune Up Oil for head maintenance.
Who It's For
A great choice if you want a tumba with authentic, traditional feel but with hardware and stability built for stage and studio use, from a model developed together with one of the genre's most respected players.
