Meinl Classic Custom Dark 18" Heavy China - CC18HDACH

Product Description

The Meinl Classic Custom Dark Heavy China 18" is a trashy china cymbal with a dark, spicy tone and medium-high pitch. It's built for players who want strong, defined accents with short sustain and a bright spark shower in the decay.

The cymbal is made from B10 bronze (90% copper, 10% tin) using Meinl's hi-tech, computer-controlled manufacturing process. A special heat treatment formula gives the cymbal its unique dark look and sound, drawing out the full sonic range of the B10 alloy while giving the surface a striking dark finish.

Sound and feel

The tone is trashy and strong, spiced with a dark low end and a medium-high pitch. Attack is quick and bright with a clear shimmer, while the extra hammering adds a fuller low end. Volume is strong and medium with a brilliant, controlled wash. Sustain is short with a distinct spark shower in the decay, making it ideal for quick, trashy accents rather than long, washy tones.

The extra-wide lip on the edge adds even more trash to the china sound, making this cymbal a strong choice for cutting, characterful accents rather than sustained crashes.

Who It's For

The Dark Heavy China suits players in rock, metal, pop and fusion who want a china cymbal with dark character and plenty of attitude in the sound.
