About Byzance

Byzance is made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional craftsmanship. Each cymbal is cast from B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin). The cast blank is heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully proven process until the correct thickness is reached. The bell is then shaped before hand-hammering gives the cymbal its final form. The raw cymbals are sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing such as laser logo, brilliant finish or sandblasting. Byzance is available in several series. Foundry Reserve, Dual, Traditional, Vintage, Jazz, Extra Dry, Dark and Brilliant. Each with its own sound characteristics and look.
