It offers clear stick definition like a classic ride, while still crashing dark and beautifully, making it a natural first choice whether you play rock, pop, fusion or latin.

• Works equally well as a crash-ride and an allround ride
• Sweet, washy sound with medium sustain and volume
• Hammered bell gives a clear and distinct attack
• Broad sound spectrum suited to several genres

Construction

The cymbal is hand-hammered from B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin) and features a traditional finish with a hand-lathed top and bottom surface. It's manufactured at Meinl's Turkish factory, then quality-checked and finished at Meinl's German facility.

Byzance

Byzance cymbals are made using traditional craftsmanship at Meinl's Turkish factory. Each cymbal is cast from B20 bronze, then heated, rolled and cooled following a carefully proven schedule until the correct thickness is reached. The bell is shaped before hand hammering gives the cymbal its final form, and series with a lathed surface are hand-lathed before being sent to Germany for quality control, sorting and finishing (such as laser-etched logos, brilliant finish or sandblasting). This combination of Turkish craftsmanship and German quality control is the key to Byzance's warm sound and consistently high standard. Byzance is available in six variants. Traditional, Vintage, Jazz, Extra Dry, Dark and Brilliant. Each with unique sound characteristics and appearance.
