20" Meinl Byzance Foundry Reserve Ride Cymbal

Product Description

The Meinl Byzance Foundry Reserve 20" Ride is an exclusive, extensively hand-hammered cymbal made from B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin). It delivers a rich, full-bodied tone with a shimmering top end, and works equally well in the studio and on stage. A flagship model for players in jazz, fusion, blues, funk and R&B who want great dynamic range without losing the attack.

Sound and Feel

The extensive hammering produces a nuanced tone with both shimmering overtones and dark depth. The attack is clear, with full stick definition that doesn't get lost at higher tempos or with harder playing. The decay is controlled. The cymbal offers a delicate spray of overtones without turning into a ringing wash over the rest of the mix.

Construction

Byzance Foundry Reserve is more extensively processed than any other line in the Meinl range. Every hammer blow is part of a process where Meinl's experienced cymbal smiths hand-shape the tone. The cymbals are manufactured at Meinl's Turkish factory, quality-checked and then finished at Meinl's German factory.

Who It's For

An exclusive cymbal that goes beyond genre boundaries, but especially at home in the studio and in musical styles where expressiveness and dynamics are top priorities. Jazz, fusion, blues, funk and R&B.
