Meinl Byzance Brilliant 16" Trash Crash - B16TRC-B

Product Description

The Meinl Byzance Brilliant 16" Trash Crash is a hand-hammered crash cymbal in B20 bronze with a polished Brilliant finish. The holes cut into the cymbal give it a fast response and short, trashy decay with plenty of shimmer. A great pick when you want extra edge and attitude in your crash sound.

Byzance Brilliant is cast in classic B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin) and hand-hammered using traditional methods at Meinl's factory in Turkey. The polished surface also affects the tone, giving a warm, full sound with plenty of dynamic control. You can shape the tone and volume a lot through your touch.

The Trash Crash has a soft, buttery feel from the hand-hammering process, but still delivers plenty of volume and a distinct shimmer. By removing material from the cymbal, the sound moves through it faster and decays faster, giving the quick response and short decay Trash cymbals are known for. The size, shape and placement of the holes also affect how trashy or dark the cymbal sounds.

Construction and manufacturing

The cymbal is manufactured at Meinl's Turkish factory and quality-checked and finished at Meinl's German factory. Including laser-etched logo, the Brilliant finish, and sandblasting. The surface is hand-lathed on both the top and bottom, in line with Byzance's traditional finishing process.
