The Meinl Byzance Artist's Choice Thomas Lang is a cymbal set curated by Meinl artist Thomas Lang to match his own preferences and playing style. It works just as well for many other drummers and suits rock, pop, fusion and funk among other styles. The set consists of three signature cymbals: a 14" Fast Hats, an 18" Polyphonic Crash and a 21" Flex Ride.

Construction and Manufacturing

Byzance cymbals are made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional craftsmanship methods. Each cymbal is cast from B20 alloy, then heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully tested schedule until the correct thickness is reached. The bell is shaped before the cymbal is hand-hammered into form, and the lathed series are then hand-lathed. The raw cymbals are sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing. Such as laser-etched logos, brilliant finish and sandblasting.
