Meinl Percussion Artisan Edition Mizhars Edition 14x4" - Matte Brown Burl

Product Description

The Meinl Artisan Edition Mizhars Edition Tar is a lightweight, tunable hand drum with origins in the Middle East and North Africa, now played worldwide. The shell is built from Siam Oak and fitted with a selected goatskin head for a warm, authentic tone. Thanks to the built-in tuning system and included tuning key, the drum is easy to fine-tune yourself.

Tar drums are known for their low weight and direct attack, making them comfortable to hold and play for extended periods. The open back with a thumb grip hole gives a secure hold and better control while playing.

Construction and Materials

The frame is made from Siam Oak (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.) and fitted with carefully selected goatskin heads, giving it a natural, organic tonal character. Tuning is handled via an Internal Lug Tuning System. A built-in lug system that keeps a clean profile without protruding hardware. A tuning key is included for easy adjustment of head tension.

Who It's For

A great choice if you want to explore Middle Eastern and North African hand drumming, or if you already play tar and want a hand-built model in a higher quality with an elegant Matte Brown Burl finish.
