Meinl Percussion Artisan Edition 8 3/4"x17,7" - Blue Pearl, Mosaic Palace

Product Description

The Meinl Artisan Edition Doumbek 8 3/4" is a hand-crafted doumbek made in Egypt, built from aluminum and decorated with mosaic art featuring mother-of-pearl inlay. Its synthetic head delivers everything from deep bass tones to a loud, sharp "doumbek" sound. A striking and richly toned choice for players of Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian or Eastern European music.

The main difference between a doumbek and a darbuka lies in how the head is attached and tuned. The doumbek has a more rounded shape, while the darbuka uses a more traditional tuning method. The Mosaic Palace pattern in Blue Pearl makes every drum a visual statement, while the aluminum construction provides stability and a clear, projecting tone.

A tuning key is included, so you can fine-tune the head tension right away. Should the head ever need replacing, three replacement head models are available (HEAD-136, HEAD-137, HEAD-138). If you want a bag for storage and transport, the MDOB, MDOB-L or MSTDOB are compatible options. These are not included but can be purchased separately.

Who It's For

A great choice if you want an authentic, hand-crafted doumbek with both top-tier sound and looks. For practice, stage or studio use within Middle Eastern-inspired percussion.
