Meinl 20'' HCS Dark Ride, HCS20DAR
Product Description
The Meinl HCS Dark 20" Ride delivers a strong ping and a clear bell for distinct accents. The underlying wash is kept in check to create depth without overpowering the cymbal, and the dark finish gives your kit a look that stands out.
Strong Ping, Controlled Wash
Play on the bow and you get a clear, defined ping that sits well in the groove. The bell is clear and works well for accents. The pitch is high, the sound harmonic and defined with a mid-dark timbre, and the sustain is short with medium to low volume.
Brass Made in Germany
The cymbal is made in Germany from MS63 brass and shaped with Meinl's Pressure Point Technology. The dark finish gives it a look that clearly stands apart from regular shiny cymbals, and compared with standard HCS, HCS Dark has more controlled overtones and a shorter sustain.
Who It's For
HCS is Meinl's entry-level line and an affordable way to build your first cymbal setup, easy on both the ears and the wallet. The ride is a good choice if you want a clear ride for your first setup, and Meinl names rock and pop as the styles it is mainly aimed at.
