Meinl 10'' HCS Dark Splash, HCS10DAS
Product Description
The Meinl HCS Dark 10" Splash gives you a quick sound with short sustain and punchy accents where a larger crash would be too much. It is perfect for grooves and fills, and the dark finish gives your kit a look that stands out.
Short Accents That Don't Take Over
With short sustain and medium to low volume, the splash decays quickly after each hit. The sound is harmonic and defined, with a low-mid pitch and a mid-dark timbre. That makes it easy to drop into fast fills without ringing into the next bar.
Brass Made in Germany
The cymbal is made in Germany from MS63 brass and shaped with Meinl's Pressure Point Technology. The dark finish gives it a look that clearly stands apart from regular shiny cymbals, and compared with standard HCS, HCS Dark has more controlled overtones and a shorter sustain.
Who It's For
HCS is Meinl's entry-level line and an affordable way to build your first cymbal setup, easy on both the ears and the wallet. The splash is a good choice if you want to add quick accents to an existing setup, and Meinl names rock and pop as the styles it is mainly aimed at.

Our Tips
- Build out with more cymbals from the same series. HCS Dark also comes as 14" hi-hats, 16" and 18" crashes and a 20" ride.
- Place the splash near the hi-hat or above the rack tom so it is within easy reach for fills.
