Product Description

The Medeli MZ528 is a complete electronic drum kit with mesh heads on every pad, dual-zone sensors on the snare and ride, and a built-in sound module with USB/MIDI. Its configuration codes are 10S-8-8-8-6K and 10HH-10C-10R, giving a realistic playing feel for practice at home, in the rehearsal room or in the studio.

Every pad uses a mesh head, giving a softer response and a feel closer to an acoustic drum than rubber pads offer. The snare and ride have dual-zone sensors (2-ZONE) for separate sounds on rim and head/bell, while the toms, hi-hat and crash are single-zone (1-ZONE). Crash and ride include choke function so you can dampen the sound just like on an acoustic cymbal.

Pads and Layout

The kit includes three 7.5" toms (1-ZONE), a 10" mesh-head snare (2-ZONE), a 10" crash (1-ZONE with choke), a 12" ride (2-ZONE with choke), a 10" hi-hat (1-ZONE) with continuous-type hi-hat pedal, and a 6" kick pad. The manufacturer lists the configuration as 10S-8-8-8-6K, 10HH-10C-10R. The module can be expanded with up to 4 toms and 2 crash cymbals for players who want to grow the kit later.

Sound Module and Features

The module has an LCD display, 64-voice polyphony, 408 sounds plus 11 hi-hat sounds, and 30 preset drum kits (plus 10 user slots). 80 preset songs and 5 user song slots are available for practicing along to backing tracks. The metronome offers adjustable click voice, volume, time signature and interval, with tempo adjustable from 30 to 280 bpm. Built-in coaching functions (Quiet Count, Beat Check, Change Up) help you train your timing. Trigger parameters (sensitivity, curve, crosstalk, retrig cancel) can be adjusted per pad, and the kit supports double bass pedal use.

Connections include USB-B for MIDI, MIDI out, headphone jack (1/8"), aux-in jack (1/8") and output jacks (2 x 1/4" mono), making it easy to record, monitor via headphones or connect to a sound system.
