Vic Firth Matt Greiner SGRE hickory
Product Description
The SGRE is Matt Greiner's own signature model from Vic Firth, built entirely to his own specifications. It features an unusual wood Taj Mahal tip and a dry-tumbled, unfinished surface for a smooth, organic feel in the hand. A great choice if you want a stick shaped by an active metalcore drummer, with no added surface coating.
Matt Greiner plays drums in the metalcore band August Burns Red and runs the popular online drum school mattgreinerlessons.com. The SGRE is his personal signature stick, developed together with Vic Firth to his exact requirements for tip, taper and surface.
Feel and Construction
The stick has a long taper, producing a back-heavy feel with more flex and a faster response. Instead of a lacquer or other coating, the surface is dry-tumbled, giving it a natural, smoother feel compared to finished sticks.
Tip
The tip shape is Taj Mahal, made of wood, a less common tip shape that gives the stick its distinct feel on impact and rebound.
