Mapex MPX MPNST4351CN 14"x3,5" - Chrome
Product Description
The Mapex MPX MPNST4351CN is a 14"x3.5" piccolo snare drum with a chrome-plated 1 mm steel shell. It delivers a sharp attack with plenty of overtones, and suits players who want an affordable snare with a fast, quiet strainer mechanism.
The shell is made from 1 mm steel, and the lugs are designed to minimize contact with the shell so that as little resonance as possible is dampened. The result is a full, articulate tone typical of a steel piccolo. The lugs are also styled after Mapex's higher-end series, so the drum blends in visually with any Mapex kit.
Strainer and response
The strainer is a Piston Strainer, borrowed from the Mapex Armory series. It runs smoothly and quietly, giving a fast, clear snare response with great dynamics. The snare wires have 20 strands.
Construction
The hoops are triple-flanged, 1.5 mm pressed hoops. The drum has 8 tension rods per side, and all visible hardware is chrome-plated. The batter head is a Remo UX Coated Ambassador.
Who It's For
The MPX series is built to deliver great tone and sound at every price point, and this model is a solid choice whether you're just starting out or already playing at a higher level.
