Mapex Black Panther Versatus BPMH445LRCY 14"x4 5/8" - Transparent Cherry Over Burl

Product Description

Mapex Black Panther Versatus (BPMH445LRCY) is a snare drum with a mahogany/maple hybrid shell, developed together with drummer Russ Miller. The 14"x4 5/8" size gives a focused, powerful sound with sensitivity for brushes and control for big back beats. The shell is hand-built and the hardware is of professional quality.

• The blended shell brings the punch and drying character of mahogany together with the projection and cut of maple.
• The unique size really focuses the drum and allows for a great amount of punch.
• Extra venting helps dry the resonance of the drum and affects the feel due to air release.

Construction

The shell is a Mahogany/Maple Hybrid Shell. The bearing edge is rounded and reinforced 45° on the batter side and rounded 35° on the snare side. The finish is Transparent Cherry Over Burl, with Black Brushed Chrome hardware.

Feel

The Versatus is described as versatile, articulate and controlled. A balance of power and finesse that works from light brush playing to big back beats.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a snare that handles multiple musical settings, from sensitive brush work to powerful back beats, without losing control or clarity.
