Mapex Black Panther Solidus 14"x7" - Black Burst

Product Description

The Mapex Black Panther Solidus is a 14x7" snare drum with a hand-built maple shell, developed in close collaboration with some of Mapex's most recognized artists. The result is a drum that looks as bold as it sounds, backed by professional-grade hardware throughout.

• Hand-built 11-ply, 11mm maple shell
• Rounded 45 center cut with 3/8" SONIClear™ outer cut
• Sonic Saver Hoops and Cylinder-Drive Strainer
• In-Line Locking B-Lugs and chrome hardware
• Remo Ambassador batter and resonant heads

Construction and Tone

The shell is built from 11 plies of maple, 11mm total, with a rounded 45 center cut paired with a 3/8" SONIClear outer cut. Together they give the drum a full attack with clear projection, reinforced by the Sonic Saver Hoops designed to preserve tone at the rim. The strainer is a Cylinder-Drive design, giving a stable and consistent grip on the snare wires with every hit.

Hardware and Finish

The drum features chrome hardware and In-Line Locking B-Lugs, a lug design that keeps tuning stable over time. The finish is Black Burst, giving the drum a deep, dark character. Both batter and resonant heads are Remo Ambassador.

Who It's For

A great choice for drummers who want a snare with real character, both in sound and looks, and who value professional-grade hardware for everyday use on stage and in the studio.
