The Ludwig Neusonic Mod is a 4-piece shell pack in Titanium Sparkle, built at Ludwig's factory in Monroe, North Carolina, USA. An updated maple/cherry crossover shell construction, RFST molding and genuine Evans heads combine for full-range tone, wide tuning ability and strong sustain. Designed for the high-velocity working drummer, Neusonic is built to deliver authentic Ludwig quality and professional capability at one of the most affordable prices for a complete USA-made kit. This generation brings an updated shell construction, new Rapid Tom sizes and new finish options.

Shell Construction

The bass drum shell is a 7-ply crossover design with a 4-ply maple exterior and a 3-ply cherry interior, measuring 5.5 mm thick. The toms and floor tom use a 6-ply crossover shell with a 3-ply maple exterior and a 3-ply cherry interior, measuring 5 mm thick. Both shell types are formed in-house and are built for wide-range tuning and optimum sustain.

Bearing Edge and RFST Molding

Neusonic shells feature a single 45-degree bearing edge with a 1/16" back cut, offering wide-range tuning ability and optimal sustain. All Ludwig USA shells are produced using RFST (Radio Frequency Technology), a process using Ludwig's original bladder molds from the 1960s combined with a specialized adhesive that cures each shell evenly over its entire surface. Ludwig describes this process as a principal ingredient of the classic "Ludwig Sound".

Heads

The kit ships standard with USA-made Evans heads: G1 Coated batter heads and G1 Clear resonant heads on the toms, plus an EQ4 batter head and EQ3 resonant head on the bass drum.

Finish

The Neusonic series is available in seven finishes, with this configuration finished in sparkling Titanium Sparkle.
