The Ludwig Neusonic Fab in Titanium Sparkle is a 3-piece, USA-made shell pack built for the high-velocity working drummer who wants reliable quality at an affordable price. Formed at Ludwig's own factory in Monroe, NC, the shells combine maple and cherry for full-range tuning and optimum sustain.

Neusonic is the latest era of Ludwig's award-winning Neusonic series, featuring an updated shell construction, new Rapid Tom sizes and new finish options. The series is available in a selection of 7 finishes, and this outfit comes in Titanium Sparkle.

Shell Construction

According to one part of the manufacturer's material, the Neusonic shell is a 7-ply crossover design made up of a 4-ply maple exterior and 3-ply cherry interior, measuring 5.5 mm thick. A separate part of the same source material instead states a 6-ply shell (3-ply maple exterior, 3-ply cherry interior) measuring 5 mm thick for the series. The bearing edge is a single 45-degree bearing edge with a 1/16" back cut, offering wide-range tuning ability and optimal sustain.

RFST Molding

All Ludwig USA shells are produced using RFST (Radio Frequency Technology), a process using the original bladder molds from the 1960's. RFST's unique bonding system, combined with a specialized adhesive, cures each shell evenly over its entire surface. According to Ludwig, a principal ingredient in the classic "Ludwig Sound".

Heads

Neusonic outfits come standard with Evans USA heads: G1 Coated batter and G1 Clear resonant on the toms, and EQ4 batter and EQ3 resonant on the bass drum.
