Ludwig Neusonic Downbeat - Blue Sparkle

Product Description

The Ludwig Neusonic Downbeat is a US-made shell pack, here in Blue Sparkle finish. Built from maple and cherry shells across bass drum, tom and floor tom, it's designed for the high-velocity working drummer who wants authentic Ludwig quality at an affordable price.

Shell Construction

The Neusonic series is built around an updated shell construction. Across the series, shells use a 7-ply crossover design made up of a 4-ply maple exterior and 3-ply cherry interior, measuring 5.5 mm thick, producing full-range tuning and optimum sustain. The shells on this shell pack are a 6-ply crossover design made up of a 3-ply maple exterior and 3-ply cherry interior, measuring 5 mm thick for optimal resonance and sustain. Shells are formed at Ludwig's factory in Monroe, NC, USA.

Bearing Edge

Neusonic series shells feature a single 45-degree bearing edge with a 1/16" back cut, offering wide-range tuning ability and optimal sustain.

RFST Molding

To increase stability throughout the drum, all Ludwig USA shells are produced using RFST (Radio Frequency Sealing Technology), a process built on original bladder molds from the 1960's. RFST's unique bonding system, combined with a specialized adhesive, cures each shell evenly over its entire surface. According to Ludwig, a key ingredient in the "Ludwig Sound".

Heads

The pack comes standard with Evans USA Heads: G1 Coated batter and G1 Clear reso on the toms, and Eq4 batter with Eq3 reso on the bass drum. Neusonic snare drums feature G1 Coated batter and Hazy 300 resonant heads. No snare drum is included in this shell pack.

Finish

Blue Sparkle is one of seven available finishes in the Neusonic series.
