The Ludwig Acrolite is a classic 14"x6.5" snare drum with a seamless, brushed-aluminum shell. Originally introduced in 1963 as a student drum, it quickly became the choice of pro players in need of dry, cracking snare tone. Ludwig still builds it in Monroe, North Carolina, USA, on the same simple but effective design that has made it a stage and studio favorite for decades.

The shell is a 6mm seamless, beaded aluminum shell, giving a light, stable and responsive foundation for a fast attack and a dry, focused tone. The hoops are 3mm steel triple-flanged hoops that keep tuning stable and contribute to the drum's characteristic snap.

The throw off is a Ludwig P86AC, paired with a P35P butt plate on the opposite side, and the drum features twin lugs for solid, easy tuning. Heads are Ludwig Weather Master: a medium coated batter head and a clear snare-side head. The classic Blue/Olive Badge remains as a nod to the original 1960s model.
