Ludwig Supraphonic 14"x5" - Chrome-plated, hammered aluminum

Product Description

The Ludwig LM400K Supraphonic is one of the most recorded snare drums in history, now with a hammered aluminum shell and chrome plating. It delivers sharp attack, controlled resonance, and a uniquely articulate sound with wide dynamic range, from subtle ghost notes to explosive rimshots. Built for drummers who demand precision, power, and personality in their snare, across any style.

Construction and Sound

The 1.7 mm seamless aluminum shell is hammered by hand to reduce overtones and add dryness, making the sound tighter and more focused with a clear, defined attack. The chrome-plated finish adds durability along with a striking visual appeal. The hammering enhances tonal control, giving you a snare that responds beautifully in both quiet and loud passages, whether in the studio or on stage.

Feel and Features

With 10 Imperial lugs, triple-flanged 2.3 mm steel hoops, and a high-performance throw-off system, the LM400K offers excellent tuning stability and smooth operation. The snare feels responsive and balanced under the stick, making it ideal for a wide range of dynamic expression, from subtle ghost notes to explosive rimshots.

Versatile Performance

This snare suits all genres, including rock, jazz, pop, and metal. Whether used as your main snare or a studio specialty piece, it provides the right blend of tone, response, and durability to meet any musical challenge.

The Ludwig LM400K Supraphonic is more than a snare drum. It's a statement of sound, style, and serious musical intent.
