Ludwig LB420BKT 5"x14" - Hammered Brass
Ludwig hammered brass snare drum, 5x14". Higher pitch than Black Beauty from timpani-style hammering.
Product Description
The Ludwig LB420BKT is a hammered brass snare drum, 5×14", with a sound close to the classic Black Beauty series but with a higher pitch. The brass is 1.2 mm thick and hand-hammered using the same technique Ludwig uses on its timpani, which widens the drum's tonal range.
The result is a snare that keeps the warm, full character associated with Ludwig's brass snares, but with a brighter, higher register than the Black Beauty. The hammering is done using the same method as on the manufacturer's timpani, giving the shell its distinct tonal qualities.
