The Ludwig Classic Maple Pro Beat in Vintage White Marine is a maple shell pack from Ludwig's Classic Maple series, the professional choice for over 20 years. Full tonality, rich sustain and exceptional versatility make it a drum set suited to nearly any performance setting, from the studio to the big stage.

Shell Construction

The shells are Classic Maple's standard 7-ply, 6mm construction, formulated for optimum resonance and tonality. The center three-ply core panel is laminated in a horizontal/vertical/horizontal grain bond to a 2.4mm thickness and inserted between inner and outer two-ply panels through Ludwig's proprietary RFST molding process. All Ludwig USA shells are produced using Radio Frequency Shell Technology (R.F.S.T.), a process involving Ludwig's historic bladder molds dating back to the late 1960s. R.F.S.T.'s unique bonding system, combined with a specialized, time-tested adhesive, cures each shell evenly over its entire surface. A process Ludwig calls a principal ingredient in creating the "Ludwig Sound" in every shell they make.

Bearing Edge

Each drum's bearing edge is cut to a 45-degree angle within 1/16" from the outside edge. This profile is critical for a wide tuning range and maximum sustain. The edge is hand-sanded for a smooth, even, flat surface that makes head seating easy. The final touch in completing each drum.
