The Ludwig Classic Maple Pro Beat is a three-piece maple shell pack finished in Silver Sparkle. The Classic Maple series has been the professional choice for over 20 years thanks to its full tonality, rich sustain, and exceptional versatility. Every shell is hand-crafted at Ludwig USA in Monroe, NC.

Shell and Construction

Classic Maple's standard shell is built from 7 plies of maple to a 6mm thickness. A center 3-ply core panel, laminated in a horizontal/vertical/horizontal grain bond to a 2.4mm thickness, is inserted between inner and outer 2-ply panels using Ludwig's proprietary RFST (Radio Frequency Shell Technology) molding process. The method uses Ludwig's historic bladder molds dating back to the late 1960s together with a unique bonding system and a specialized, time-tested adhesive that cures each shell evenly over its entire surface, adding stability and producing the signature Ludwig Sound.

Bearing Edge

Each drum's bearing edge is cut to a 45-degree angle within 1/16" from the outside edge, then hand-sanded for a smooth, even, flat surface that makes head seating easy. This profile is critical for a wide tuning range and maximum sustain.

Sound

Classic Maple delivers a bright attack with maximum sustain, making it a versatile, all-purpose choice for a wide range of performance settings.
