Ludwig Classic Maple Fab - Vintage Black Oyster Set of 3
Shell pack, Ludwig Classic Maple Fab in Vintage Black Oyster, maple shell. Warm, versatile tone with bright attack for studio and stage.
Product Description
The Ludwig Classic Maple Fab in Vintage Black Oyster is a maple shell pack built for professional use in the studio and on stage. The shell delivers full tonality, rich sustain, and exceptional versatility across musical styles.
The Classic Maple series has been the professional choice for over 20 years. Each shell is 7-ply, 6mm maple, with a center three-ply core panel (laminated in a horizontal/vertical/horizontal grain bond to a 2.4mm thickness) inserted between inner and outer two-ply panels through Ludwig's proprietary RFST process (Radio Frequency Shell Technology). The process uses Ludwig's historic bladder molds dating back to the late 1960s together with a specialized, time-tested adhesive that cures each shell evenly over its entire surface. A key ingredient in the signature Ludwig Sound.
Bearing Edge and Tone
Each drum's bearing edge is cut to a 45-degree angle within 1/16" from the outside edge, then hand-sanded to a smooth, even, flat surface for easy head seating. This profile delivers a wide tuning range and maximum sustain, along with a bright attack that makes the kit exceptionally versatile.
