Ludwig Breakbeats - Blue Sparkle

Product Description

Ludwig Breakbeats in Blue Sparkle is a compact shell pack developed with Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson (The Roots), built for drummers gigging around the city who need a kit that fits in a car trunk without sacrificing a pro sound. The 7-ply hardwood shells feature bearing edges cut to 45 degrees, and the kit ships with Remo Pinstripe heads and a nylon bag set.

• Compact size that fits tight rehearsal rooms and cars
• 7-ply hardwood shells for a full sound despite the small footprint
• Remo Pinstripe heads on every drum
• Nylon bag set for transport and muting
• Ludwig's hand-sanded bearing edge for smooth head seating

Built for the street and the stage

Breakbeats was designed with the city in mind. Positioned on a riser for optimum reach, its compact 16"x14" bass drum, 10"x7" tom, and 13"x13" floor tom create a set-up for sculpting grooves in tight spaces. Whether that's a club gig, playing on the street, or rehearsal.

Tone and shells

The tonal center of Breakbeats is a matching 14"x5" wood snare drum. The 7-ply hardwood shells play like a full-sized kit, fusing low-end kick punch with focused tom and snare midrange, and the Remo heads deliver pro-level tones.

Construction

Each drum's bearing edge is cut to a 45-degree angle, within 1/16" from the outside edge. This sharp edge is hand-sanded for a smooth, even, flat surface that ensures easy head seating. The final touch behind the unmistakable Ludwig sound.

Pack it up

Packable, stackable, and portable, the compact size and included storage bags make Breakbeats ideal for the drummer on the move. Play it wide open, or drape a bag over each drum for instant volume and tone control.

Who It's For

Breakbeats was designed by Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson for the metropolitan professional who wants a compact kit with full sound, but it also suits home practice or smaller stages where quick muting matters.
