The Ludwig LA405K Acrophonic is a hammered, limited-edition snare drum measuring 14x6.5", built as a mix of several of Ludwig USA's classic snare drums. It features a hammered aluminum shell like the one found on the Acrolite, combined with Imperial lugs from the Phonic range.

The result is a drum that brings together two well-known Ludwig designs in one shell: the light, hammered aluminum construction that gives the Acrolite its dry, direct crack, paired with the sturdier Imperial lugs normally found on Phonic-series snares. If you like the Acrolite sound but want a different look and hardware feel, the LA405K is worth a closer look, sharing the same compact 14x6.5" size as many of Ludwig's most recognized snares.
